Carolyn Lang works on her bachelor's degree in Justice from a deck about 30 miles north of Fairbanks. The deck overlooks the dog yard where she works as a handler for Iditarod musher Ken Anderson. Lang completed her degree in three years, mostly through distance-delivered courses which saved her the long commute to campus.
