A researcher crew with UAF's Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) approaches a barge anchored mid-channel in the Tanana River near Nenana. The unit hosts a hydrokinetic generator being monitored to determine the feasibility of using such devices to help reduce the high cost of energy throughout rural Alaska.
