A crane lowers the old 10-meter antenna from the roof of the Elvey Building on Thursday, March 16, 2017, ending the dish's 25 years of service to the Geophysical Institute on the Fairbanks campus. A new 9-meter antenna will replace the retired dish and continue to retrieve scientific data from polar-orbiting satellites.
