Research assistant professor Jeff Benowitz with UAF's Geophysical Institute samples volcanic ash from eruptions about 70 million years ago along a bluff near the headwaters of Tattler Creek in Denali National Park. The discovery of several dinosaur remains in the area in recent years has drawn particular interest to the Tattler Creek drainage.
