JR Ancheta is a 2015 graduate of UAF with a degree in foreign languages and a minor in journalism. He was the student photographer for UAF University Relations from 2012 until spring 2016 when he began filling in full-time after the chief photographer retired. Born in Laoag City, Philippines and raised in Sitka, Ancheta enjoys digital and analogue photography. During his winter break from December 2011 to January 2012, Ancheta embedded with soldiers from the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division in Afghanistan as a photojournalist. His work has been published in the Anchorage Daily News, Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, the UAF Sun Star and the UAF Aurora magazine.
Todd Paris is a 1983 graduate of UAF with a degree in journalism. He was chief photographer with UAF University Relations from 2003 until he retired in 2016. During that time he was an active member in the University Photographers' Association of America and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, and taught Photoshop and digital photography at UAF's Community and Technical College.
